What are the steps an undergraduate Student should follow for attaining higher studies in the US or Canada?

I am right now pursuing my 2nd year Bcom in St xaveirs college, kolkata.
And doing my GNIIT too. I would like to continue my studies ( MBA or Any Master's degree in the US or Canada.
At the first , the most serious Question which lingers in most of the students mind is " what am i going to do and how will i proceed about it".
There are around 5000+ Universties in the US and also across Canada.
The main problem is what courses or program should I select which will enhance my Qualification level to have a bright future. I am not sure whether i would Graduate in Bcom.Finance or Marketing. I would like to know how to select a university and also about the exams and admission procedures .
So , if you any one could please help me would be very grateful.
