Sir, I m a B.tech biotechnology IInd year student. I want to do m.tech (biochemistry &biotechnology) from iit delhi. Tell me about the placement & salary package offered for them at iitd.
And how much score is need in GATE to take admission.

Well!! you need a GATE score above 99% to be at IIT-D, for other IITs also you need a GATE score above 98% atleast. PLacement and salary both depends on your caliber. Hi,
I dont want to question your choice of IITD for the masters as of now..but if you want it then some pointers..
1. There are no good placements in the industry directly from the campus..
2. Salaries are pretty low, 2-5 lacks per annum after this masters
3. It makes more sense to go for a phd if you do masters..which will later fetch you good money...but its a long journey..
4. If you already have a focus area, then look it up on IITD website and see which professor is working on those lines...take an appointment with him and talk to him...he would be the best person to guide you further on any query..

i am also a b-tech iit delhi student , first of all you should know that u dont have to give GATE exam, you can be enrolled in M-Tech automatically if your CGPA is above 6.5 i guess.Let the placement dilemma of yours be answered by the mentors but i personally would not suggest you to do M-tech unless u have a very keen interest in your core as the salary package would not rise so much by your M-tech .Thats my opinion

sorry i was wrong about the CGPA criteria ,one needs a CGPA of ateast 8.0 to get directly enrolled into M-tech after your B-tech from IIT,and what i think if u r really interested in ur core then u should go for PHD in it from abroad , that will also ensure you of good package.Don't just decide what to do based on just the salary package , if shown keen interest ,u can do well in any stream.
