lateral placements in IIMs

Sir,
I completed my graduation in 2009 and i am working since june 2009 in a small company called COVINYS in bangalore.I am willing to take up CAT 2010 and I had heard about LATERAL PLACEMENTS which take place in the IIMS.I was told that we require at least two years of work experience to get qualified for those lateral placements.My question is that I will be completing two years of work experience only by june 2011.Then am I eligible for those lateral placements or is it that they count our work experience only till august 2010 or september 2010 the date upto which we are asked to fill the experience column in the CAT application form?Also do we need to work only in an MNC to get our work experience recognised or any small company
