How to tackle with Resume

hii, What is the best way to get past the resume drop? My pre-MBA experience is in the non-profit sector, but I'd like a job in financial services. I'm afraid I’ll be overlooked in the flood of students with pre-MBA analyst experience

Hi Priya,

From your profile, I understand that you are looking for advice related to Summers placements. Do let me know if that is incorrect.

First of all, congratulations on the fact that you are focused about what you want to do. A majority of students are still not sure of this at this stage. Companies are looking for people, not only with knowledge, but also with a highly positive inclination towards the work that they do. The knowledge part will be built up during your 2 years of MBA.

On your resume, bring out your interest in financial services in the summary. State all the facts of your pre-MBA experience, highlighting any achievements in the financial space (like raising funds, managing budgets, etc.) during your work at the non-profit.

All the best!

Cheers,
Shreeram
