Chances for first timer in CAT

I am a fresh graduate and full time trainee in a pvt company. I am taking CAT this year for first time. I am preparing for CAT myself from books without any external guidance,I feel i am decent in english, and quantitative aptitude but need to focus on the data interpretation. overall speaking can u tell me what r the chances of cracking the CAT for first timers and by self study???
