about internships in research

sir, i m a b.tech student of himachal pradesh univaersity. shimla & studying INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY.I m interested in research & development work .i just want to ask that is there any oppurtunity in this field as i m very much interested in this career.so please help out me with this problem...
