Rahul grew up in Mumbai, India. He studied in Mumbai through high school and left after 12th standard to pursue an undergraduate education in electrical engineering at the University of Illinois.
Rahul has had experience with a diverse group of institutions during his undergraduate years. He has interned with a technology startup at C-SAM, Inc., with a large technology company at AT&T, Inc., with the Investment Banking arm of DSP Merrill Lynch Ltd. and has worked in a research group at the Beckman Institute.
As a student at the University of Illinois, Rahul has been active with societies such as the IEEE Student Chapter, the Tau Beta Pi Engineering Honor Society and the Eta Kappa Nu ECE Honor Society. He was also on the course staff for the Intro to ECE class and has been involved with tutoring. He was named a Notable Illini 2008-09 for his outstanding academic achievements, impressive campus involvement and love of the college and University.
In his free time, Rahul also plays the electric bass.
