For the past three years, Paul has done molecular biology and chemical engineering research for a variety of institutions. At Iowa State University, Paul worked with Dr. Surya Mallapragada, named as one of the world's Top 100 Innovators by MIT in 2003. The work he did there was published in the journal Pharmaceutical Research. At Sigma-Aldrich in St. Louis, Missouri, Paul worked in the Functional Genomics department designing a new product. Paul is currently researching neuronal differentiation with Dr. Hobert at the Howard Hughes Medical Institute in New York City. For the last 2 years, Paul has tutored at various levels, from highschool students in chemistry, physics, and calculus to his peers in transport phenomena, thermodynamics, and chemical reactor design.
Paul is also a pianist, giving 1-2 performances per year and accompanying both the Barnard-Columbia University choir and a number of professional musicians in the New York City area.
Paul enjoys running, biking, mountain climbing, learning photography, perfecting his Spanish, and latin music.
