Team MentorPolis sat back yesterday for usual late night discussions and thought why do we want to have blog? The answers were varied and intriguing.
- We want to talk to people. We tell them our stories and they tell us theirs. We understand people like communicating.
- We will share our progress with them, what challenges are we facing and how can they help us. We believe people are smart and they like contributing.
- It will be a forum for people to share thoughts (besides education), their concerns and how they think we can help them. We want people to express what they want from us.
The reasons were exciting enough to have a blog, so we decided to start. So covering all the three points in the first blog itself here we go.
Story : Even before we started this blog, we started telling our stories
. Please read About Mentorpolis to know more about us, who we are and ‘how do we work’.
Progress : The website is in Alpha stage and has lots of bugs and errors. We have been feeding on these bugs during our hungry nights. Hopefully we will remove them as we progress, but you can always help us by reporting those bugs or sending your feedback and suggestions.
Express: We have told you things about MentorPolis already, we would love to hear from you now! ‘Weblinks are great-can we have more of them’, ‘the website is ok- we would like to have better looks’, ‘we need more of X features’, ‘need more mentors on X vertical’ etc. etc… Say something and that something can be anything.
And yes, did we tell you we absolutely love appreciation
You may like to boost our team saying, Guys you’ve done a great job!
In the end we are extremely glad to see you here on MentorPolis, and hope to see you more often.

I saw your website in google search results. I think its a great initiative. It feels good to see that young minds from IIT are providing a platform for students and professionals to take crucial decisions of their career. I think you should publicise this well. Way to go!

Hey people,
I think it is a great concept and should help lots of students to get in touch with the right kind of mentors for their questions/dilemnas
I wish there was something similar in the past to help me when I was a student.
good luck to you guys

hi all,
this seems an idea which can truly add something tangible to the students when they find themselves chained to the bottom of the ocean.
a person needs to be in the right place at the right time to succeed. only ingradient is his own mind which he should not refrain from using. this a platform which can provide you the former and help you with the latter.
truly a good idea when its dearth cannot be over estimated.
wishing good luck to you all.

I sincerely appreciate the acumen of the people behind Mentorpolis who identified the need of mentoring for aspiring students and ‘ve delivered metropolis as a smart and promising solution. I am sure your effort would immensely help others.
I wish with time you are able to come up with ideas enabling more (1) Affordable and (2) Exhaustive mentoring for students. More specifically, perhaps adding a wiki/public forum would enable mentee-mentee and mentor mentor interaction as well.
All the best!
